Watch Guy Livingston, in João Henrique Viegas' video of my

"Solo Concerto for Conductor"

The piece is written for a conductor performing solo. Conducting neither instrumentalists nor instruments, but silence. It hopes to be an inspirational, and fun, piece to study and perform. It also fits perfect in Guy's PhD work, posing some very important questions on music, on performance, audiences and on silence.

Sneak preview of the score

"Solo Concerto for Conductor"

The first few bars, shown here, and the original idea is from many years ago. I revisited and completed the piece in one of the solitary periods of the pandemic (in 2020), and indeed it then evolved to fit in very well with Guy's research. Contact me if you want a copy of the full score.

This photo reveals some of the intensity it takes to conduct the piece. A good performance of fluxus requires enormous concentration.

Importantly the Grand Piano is there at the disposal of the conductor.
