Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Anders Jallén
Here's a new piece of mine, "Breathe Water", which is my musical representation of how I imagine it feels to have gills. To breathe through them, to inhale oxygen through them, to - in fact - breathe water.
"Breathe Water" is a satellite composition to my "Symphony for the Waters". Both compositions concern the Oceans and other Maritime environments.
It is also the completion of a long process. Many years ago I wrote the basic melody and its chord progression after hearing Carla Bley. So it is in her memory that I present this piece, now fully worked out for vibraphone and string quartet.
There is no concert planned for this piece yet, but in the mean time you can enjoy the music below - as PDF and as computer audio.
